Hornbill Festival 2026 from Delhi — Flights, Cost & Itinerary
Delhi is one of the easiest Indian cities to reach the Hornbill Festival from — daily direct and one-stop flights to Dimapur (DMU), the gateway airport for Kohima. Here is what to expect in cost, time and route.
Flights — Delhi to Dimapur (DMU)
IndiGo and Air India operate daily Delhi–Dimapur flights, mostly via Kolkata or Guwahati, with a couple of seasonal direct services. Flight time: 3 hours direct, 5–6 hours via a stop. Return fares for early December 2026 typically run ₹9,000–₹16,000 if booked 6–8 weeks ahead, rising sharply closer to festival dates.
From Dimapur airport, Kohima is a 75 km / 3-hour drive on NH-29. We include the airport pickup in every package.
Train option from Delhi
The Brahmaputra Mail (15658) and Northeast Express (12506) run from Delhi to Dimapur. Journey time: 36–42 hours. Useful if you have time and want to see the country, but most Delhi travellers fly.
