Hornbill Festival 2026 from Mumbai — Flights, Cost & 5-Day Plan

Mumbai travellers reach the Hornbill Festival via Kolkata (CCU) or Guwahati (GAU), then a short hop to Dimapur (DMU). With the right routing, it is a comfortable 5-day trip from BOM.

Best flight route from Mumbai

Mumbai → Kolkata → Dimapur is usually the cheapest and fastest, with total travel time around 6–7 hours. Mumbai → Guwahati → Dimapur is a useful alternative if you want to combine Kaziranga National Park with the festival.

Return fares for late November / early December 2026 typically run ₹14,000–₹22,000 per person, booked 6–10 weeks ahead. Festival-week last-minute fares can cross ₹30,000.

Recommended 5-day Mumbai plan

Day 1: Mumbai–Kolkata–Dimapur–Kohima. Day 2: Full festival day at Kisama. Day 3: Khonoma village + Kohima War Cemetery. Day 4: Second festival morning + Touphema. Day 5: Kohima–Dimapur–Mumbai. Two full festival days, one cultural day, comfortable pacing.

Mumbai-to-Mumbai package cost

Land package (Dimapur to Dimapur), twin-share, 4N/5D: ₹32,000–₹45,000 per person. Add Mumbai return flights (~₹16,000) and you are looking at ₹50,000–₹65,000 all-in per person.

Pair with Kaziranga from Mumbai

Fly Mumbai → Guwahati and add 2 nights at Kaziranga before the festival. Total trip: 7 days, ~₹65,000–₹80,000 per person. See our Journey IV for the exact Kaziranga + Hornbill route.
