World War Walk
Kohima's 1944 battlefield history, walked on foot.
What it is
The World War Walk is a guided heritage walk over the sites of the 1944 Battle of Kohima. It ran at 9:00 AM on 3, 7 and 10 December 2025; a World War II Peace Rally was separately listed at 12:00 PM on 2 December 2025.
Why it matters
Kohima was the eastern turning point of the Second World War in Asia. The Kohima War Cemetery and the tennis-court battlefield sit inside the modern town, and walking them is the only way the terrain makes sense.
